It's 2008: Do You Know Where Your Talent Is?

"It’s 2008" defines and addresses the critical talent crisis emerging worldwide across all industries. Within the next five to ten years, an alarming number of Baby Boomers are set to retire from both the private and public sectors. At the same time, it is anticipated that there will be fewer graduates with the right critical skill sets entering the marketplace. These converging events will result in an unprecedented talent shortage and skills gap. The Deloitte paper defines the crisis and, in response, offers a forward-thinking approach to talent management strategies—the “Develop-Deploy-Connect” model. NAW and Deloitte's strategic alliance is focused on producing high-quality thought-leadership materials “to make wholesaler-distributors so good at what they do that no one else will do it”. Please submit the requested information below, and a link to the document will be emailed to you.

NAW and Deloitte have created a strategic alliance "to make wholesaler-distributors so good at what they do that no one else will do it". This paper provides a unique point of view on the impact of this evolving

Department of Defense RFID Policy Guidelines

On July 30, The Department of Defense (DoD) issued its final RFID policy guidelines for wholesale distribution and other companies selling to it. RFID is Radio Frequency Identification—a technology enabling the transmission of product identification information between suppliers and customers via microchips and readers. Like DoD, an increasing number of corporate customers are beginning to require RFID tagging by their wholesale distribution suppliers. If you sell to DoD, RFID tags will be mandatory for Defense contracts issued as of October 1 for delivery of materiel on or after January 1, 2005. Additional DoD RFID requirements take effect in 2006 and 2007.

THE CHANNEL OF CHOICE: Wholesale distribution serves suppliers and customers at the lowest cost

Wholesaler-distributors act as an integral part of a manufacturer's logistics operations, allowing the manufacturer to store inventory in numerous locations at minimal cost. By involving more than one manufacturer-and in some cases involving thousands-distributors reduce inventory carried by customers, lowering the number of transactions needed and cutting the total expense of doing business.
